Web Quest

Web Quests, in my opinion, are one of the best tools for including technology in the class room. Through Web Quests students can use different sources of technology to learn in a variety of subjects. It is easy for teachers to include aspects of Web Quests into different lesson plans and really are pretty quick to put together. Web Quests and education tools like them allow teachers to be more creative in the classrooms. Students remember the teachers who were not afraid to try different things. The society we live in now is very digital and on the go. Students enjoy being on computers, and exercises like these allow them to use the internet as a resource database.

Hopefully you can use some of the excellent Web quests we have seen in class!

Thanks for your thoughts on this issue.

I agree with you John. I think that webquests are not only very informative to the students but it breaks up the everyday lectures they endure. Especially if you use the webquest assignment as a contest between groups it gives them more incentive to be the best and come up with the best conclusions. I find that working with high school children they are very competitive and will do anything to beat their classmates. Webquests are not only informative and educational but students love using the internet to do anything...even if it does require learning.

I agree, the students love to use technology. I have been so inspired by our webquest project I have begun to write a few Chemistry related Web Quests!!!
